Bus, train and cruise all on one ticket
Looking for an adventure this summer?
Review by Janine Pulford
Look no further than your local bus company, Morebus, which has partnered with Swanage Railway and City Cruises to introduce the flexible Jurassic Adventurer.
This multi transport ticket offers unlimited travel, all day, on any Morebus route, the Swanage Railway and any City Cruises trip.
I was invited with my husband to sample a day ticket, and this is what we did.
We boarded the Purbeck Breezer 40 from Poole bus station at 10.35am arriving at picturesque Corfe Castle about an hour later. From the bus stop we walked to the railway station to catch a Swanage Railway steam train at noon to the seaside town of Swanage. It was a 20-minute journey filled with nostalgia – yes, I remember steam trains from long ago – and the surrounding countryside was beautiful. Swanage seafront is only a short walk from the station, and we sat in the blazing sunshine eating our lunch whilst looking out to sea. It was idyllic and worth several photographs. Afterwards, we headed to a café for coffee, again with a sea view, before walking to the pier to catch a City Cruises boat at 2.30pm. The sea was calm and when we passed stunning Old Harry rocks there were some more great photo opportunities. We arrived at Poole Quay at around 3.30pm.
All these different types of transport were included on one ticket for one price and the day worked perfectly for us.
You can pick and choose what you do and when, and no doubt you will have a different idea about how you would plan your day to maximise your ticket because there are many combinations.
Was it a good day out? No – it was a brilliant day out! Definitely a big thumbs up for the Jurassic Adventurer. Visit https://www.morebus.co.uk/jurassic-adventurer or https://www.cityexperiences.com/poole/city-cruises/jurassic-adventurer/ to book your ticket.
