Bournemouth’s Castlepoint shopping park has been accredited with ISO14001 that encourages better environmental management to reduce waste and energy use and improves efficiency to cut the cost of running a business. Operations Manager, Bill Riddle, said that whilst many of the initiatives have been in place at the 41-acre park for years, including a major fight against landfill waste and maximising recycling projects, the accreditation demonstrates compliance and encourages more opportunities.
“The ISO14001 process is important to the continued improvement with a documented plan that ensures that we manage against environmental risk,” he said. “We have added 25 assorted bird boxes and insect homes around the site that are part of our current wildlife plan that ties in with ISO 14001 and encourages ecological growth on our site. It all makes Castlepoint a very pleasant place to shop.”
