Christchurch Living Advent Calendar begins today
The Christchurch Living Advent Calendar (CLAC) begins today when the first ‘door’ will open in the North Porch of Priory Church.
CLAC will see a different performance by local performers every evening at 6.15pm from today until 23 December, and on Christmas Eve, there will be a performance will be at 2pm in Saxon Square. As with a traditional advent calendar, the identity of the performers will be a surprise until the ‘door’ is opened.
Following each performance, details will be published on the CLAC website. Already, £12,000 has been raised for charity through sponsorship, and donations will be taken at each performance to support local charities.
Over the next week, the following charities will be supported at these venues:
1 December – Priory North Porch, in support of Autism Wessex
2 December – James and White, in support of Lewis Manning, sponsored by KAMM Civil Engineering
3 December – Druitt Hall, in support of Somerford ARC, sponsored by the Christchurch Charitable Trust
4 December – Priory Church, in support of Macmillan Caring Locally, sponsored by Proscapes Construction/Landscaping
5 December – Boat House, in support of the Water Lily Project, sponsored by the Christchurch Charitable Trust
6 December – Captain’s Club, in support of the British Heart Foundation, sponsored by the Primrose Charitable Trust
7 December – Kings Arms Pavilion, in support of Christchurch Food Bank+, sponsored by T C File Knapper
