The Friday coffee club in Ferndown recently made a donation of £100 to the East Dorset and New Forest Branch of the Motor Neurone Disease Association (MNDA).
The money was raised one morning by club members, who meet in the Theatre Bar at the Barrington Centre every Friday. During the year they hold a number of fundraising events for charities.
The support for MNDA was particularly appropriate as one of the members had had experience of caring for a loved one who had suffered from the disease.
Judith Mills, chairperson of the local branch, explained to coffee club members how support was given to both carers and those suffering from the disease.
