Police in Weymouth are becoming increasingly concerned for the welfare of a missing 61-year-old man from the town.
Geoffrey Jack Henville Cole was last seen in Weymouth Bay on the sailing boat ‘Palamina’ at around 7am on Saturday 21 September. He planned to sail to Swanage to meet friends – a journey he has done numerous times. He left his home address where he lives with his wife at around 6am on Saturday 21 September, but nobody has heard from him since. At around 6.30am on Monday 23 September, his boat was located by French coastguards washed ashore in the area of Griz Nez, situated near Calais and Boulogne.
Inspector Bob Jacobs, of Dorset Police, said: “We are growing increasingly concerned for Geoffrey and are anxious to establish his whereabouts. His family are desperate for him to return to them safe and well. I am appealing for anyone with any information to Geoffrey’s whereabouts to get in touch at the earliest opportunity.” Anyone with any information should call Dorset Police on 101, quoting incident number 23:159.
