Twenty year 6 students from Cranborne, Emmanuel, St Michael’s and Ferndown Middle schools recently joined together for a day of musical activities hosted at Ferndown Upper School. During the day they had the chance to take part in various sessions covering different musical skills. They worked on their ensemble playing skills, explored the potential of music technology and combined with students from Ferndown Upper to experience singing in four part harmony. The day concluded with a short performance of their work for their parents. Director of Music, Clare Whitehead, who led the day said, “The students worked incredibly hard all day, and produced some really musical results which their parents were able to enjoy. It was lovely to see the year 6 students working alongside much older students, and coming together through the medium of music.”
