Do you work in farming or know someone that does?
Your help is being sought by a group that has come together to help tackle poor mental health in the farming community.
The group, which includes representatives from Farming Community Network (FCN), National Farmers Union (NFU), Dorset Council, Dorset Healthcare, Dorset Mind, Dorset Mental Health Forum, Dorset Police and Steps to Wellbeing, says we are currently facing a mental health crisis.
This has been further impacted by coronavirus. The group is concerned that local farming communities are particularly vulnerable due to high levels of poor mental health.
The group aims to increase awareness of wellbeing within farming and provide a range of targeted support such as signposting, training and events that can be easily accessed when someone needs urgent help.
The group is asking that people in farming communities take a short, anonymous survey so they can start to identify people’s current understanding of mental health and whether there are any gaps in services.
The survey should take approx. 5 minutes to complete and can be found here: www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/XYBFG99
