Fordingbridge Rotary’s creative problem-solving secures HOG services
The ‘hand over’ from president to president elect at Fordingbridge Rotary is normally a straightforward process, but during lockdown, when person-to-person meetings are discouraged and social distancing is a must, this year's handover required some creative problem solving.
After some head scratching, a solution has been found. Fordingbridge Rotary has managed to secure the services of Pete Mouland of the local HOG (Harley Owners’ Group).
Pete, from Breamore, who lives near the existing Rotary president, Paul Hammond will pick up the president’s chain and deliver it to the new president, Toni Butler at Alderholt.
Toni will pass the president elect’s chain to ‘Pete the biker’ who will transport it to Fordingbridge, where Will Peak, the existing junior vice president lives.
Fordingbridge Rotary’s publicity officer Derek Ayling said, “How’s that for creative problem solving, and efficient use of local community services?”
