The next New Forest Seasonal Snaps photo has been launched giving people the chance to win great prizes for their autumnal photos.
The online contest, run by the New Forest National Park Authority, highlights the natural beauty of the Forest and encourages people to care for the area. It looks to build on the success of this summer’s competition, which attracted over 2,000 votes across 160 photos.
Entries can be submitted on Facebook, Twitter or Instagram until 18 November and anyone can take part, whether an expert photographer or an enthusiastic amateur.
Photos should capture autumn in the Forest, perhaps children playing in fallen leaves, ponies among fiery autumnal foliage or free-roaming pigs foraging for food.
Four winners will be chosen by a public vote, which will be open throughout the competition on the National Park Authority’s Facebook page, and an additional judges’ pick will be chosen by a judging panel. The results will be announced on 20 November and the five chosen entries will win one of several exciting prizes, kindly donated by local businesses:
Barry Rickman, New Forest National Park Authority member, said: “Crisp clear days and the Forest’s golden foliage make this a great time to get out and about in the National Park. This competition is seeking to harness the power of social media to encourage people to celebrate the beauty of the New Forest in autumn and encourage others to protect and cherish the area. I wish all the entrants the best of luck and I hope they enjoy photographing the unique landscape of the National Park.”
