A Dorset law firm is urging other companies to follow its lead and enter a team for this year’s Bournemouth Race for Life.
Ellis Jones Solicitors is fielding its largest ever contingent in the three races which take place on Sunday June 14.
Twenty members of staff from the firm’s Bournemouth, Poole and Ringwood offices have signed up for the 5k and 10k races.
They include Stephanie Wilson, who works in the accounts department at Ellis Jones’ Charminster office. She is the firm’s longest serving participator in the Bournemouth Race for Life events with medals dating back to 2004 when Ellis Jones first entered a team.
Nigel Smith, Managing Partner, said the number of staff taking part this year was nearly double on 2014.
He added: “We have raised thousands of pounds over the last 11 years and are on course for another bumper sum this year.
“I would urge other companies to enter a team so we can raise the maximum amount of money for this fantastic cause.”
Over the past 20 years, more than 7 million women have taken part in Cancer Research UK’s Race for Life, raising over £513 million to fund the charity’s life-saving work.
Cancer Research UK hope that this year’s 300 Race for Life events will raise £50 million.
The Bournemouth events start at the Pier Approach and follow the seafront with 5k and 10k races at 9am and a 5k at 11.30am.
Places are still available for all three events. To register, go to http://raceforlife.cancerresearchuk.org/index.html
