“It’s and exciting year for Ferndown in Bloom,” says chairman of the committee Cllr Jean Read.
“Haskins Garden Centres, our long term sponsor, is celebrating the 20th Anniversary of the opening of the centre at Longham and has donated £800 worth of prizes this year.”
As well as the increased prize money, the committee is inviting Ferndown residents who would like to consider joining them to help steer, support, promote and possibly even judge the 2014 competition to attend the AGM on Thursday 13 February.
“We are always open to new ideas to help make our town more attractive and continue the success of the competition,” adds Jean who has chaired the committee for two years..
“The AGM is the best time to meet the existing committee members and possibly join the team as it is the start of the competition planning stage when new ideas and themes can be considered.”
