Witchampton First School held its annual Easter bonnet parade around the village on the last day of term. In Easter bonnets these children were the grandest on parade.
For many years Witchampton First School – one of the smallest in East Dorset – has welcomed Easter by parading through the village. It was an ‘eggsellent’ turnout this year. The parade began with the children gathering outside school in their bonnets. Then the pupils, teachers and many parents walked around the village wishing people a very happy Easter. Stopping on the way they were joined by the the Little Owls Pre-school youngsters, singing Easter songs to the villagers. The parade finished at the local church where the children joined in a special Easter service. Witchampton First School is in the village of Witchampton, which has a population of just 398.
