More than 4,000 local people have so far had their say on issues such as GP appointments, A&E services, waiting times and specialist healthcare as part of The big ask – but there’s still time to share your views!
Health organisations across Dorset are pleased with the initial response to their unique survey, The big ask, which aims to understand local perceptions of NHS services and patients’ priorities.
With less than three weeks to go before the survey closes on Monday 9 September, there is still plenty of time to contribute views. All surveys received will generate an overall understanding of what local people value about their NHS and help to gauge opinion on how it should be configured as we face challenges in the future.
Dr Forbes Watson, chair of the NHS Dorset Clinical Commissioning Group, says: “To already have such a weighty response is reassuring and we can see that patient choice is a priority for a large proportion of our population. It is however critical that we gain as much information as possible from the county’s diverse geographic spread and from those who we serve from west Hampshire. Whether you are rurally based or in a town environment your view is important to us; we need to have as broad an input to this study as possible. And anyone can take part.”
