A local business that specialises in helping people who have thin hair or hair loss is helping staff at a hospice in the techniques required to wash, style and blow dry patient’s hair.
Hair Loss Bournemouth, based at hair and beauty salon MWAH Bournemouth is about to start training staff in the art of hair care at East Dorset’s Lewis-Manning Hospice based in Poole.
The charity offers free specialist palliative nursing care to around 650 local people living with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses, giving them and their families and carers, access to the support they may need to help them cope with their illness and the changes it may bring.
Sally Goodenough from Lewis Manning Hospice said, “We know our patients will welcome the advice and training that Simone, who owns Hair Loss Bournemouth, and her employees are offering our staff and patients. We all appreciate the difference it makes when you go to your hair dresser and have a professional wash and blow dry and I know that our patients, many of whom are cancer sufferers, will welcome the expert advice that they can offer on hair loss and thin hair.”
