Holy Week in Wimborne begins with Palm Sunday procession
After an absence of two years due to the coronavirus pandemic, the traditional Palm Sunday procession started Holy Week in Wimborne Minster.
Following the blessing of the palms by the Revd Canon Andrew Rowland and a short service to commemorate Christ’s entry into Jerusalem, the clergy, choir and members of the minster congregation set off from the Allendale Centre.
‘Lift High the Cross’ was sung during the procession to The Square where the Gospel was read by the curate the Revd Nick Wells.
The procession continued down the High Street to the Minster singing ‘All Glory, Laud and Honour’. This was followed by the Parish Eucharist Service in the Minster.
