Talented staff from Lighthouse, Poole’s Centre for the Arts have recreated the classic 1977 Morecambe and Wise Breakfast sketch to promote the forthcoming theatre production of Morecambe.
Rebecca also had the tricky task of editing footage to fit the famous ‘Stripper’ music used in the original sketch, which features Eric and Ernie dancing round their kitchen whilst making breakfast.
The film was the idea of Lighthouse Communications Officer Susie Carver, who says: “I was looking for entertaining ways to promote ‘Morecambe’ – an Olivier award-winning play which tells the life story of Eric Morecambe. It struck me that Dominic and Liam could easily pass for the famous pair, and as between them they have a background in film and acting I knew they’d be perfect for the roles. Luckily they are both huge Morecambe & Wise fans, so were keen to get involved!”
The team filmed the sketch over the course of just one evening, with the Lighthouse café area providing a perfect backdrop for the classic comedy routine.
