Ashley Cross-based Patrick’s and Leader and Co estate agents are encouraging people to help make a difference by taking part in their charity pub quiz on Sunday 1 December from 6pm.
Hosted by popular quizmaster Paul Kinvig at Patrick’s, the Christmas-themed quiz will test general knowledge while raising money in aid of DEBRA – the national charity that supports individuals and families affected by Epidermolysis Bullosa (EB).
All proceeds from the night will go towards helping five-year-old local boy Mason White. Mason suffers from a rare genetic skin disease called Recessive Dystrophic EB (RDEB), which causes the skin to be so delicate that the slightest knock can cause severe blistering both inside and outside the body.
Organiser Ryan Woolfenden, owner of Leader and Co estate agents, says: “We are looking forward to offering our guests a fun evening of frivolity with the deeper purpose of raising awareness of this brave young boy’s plight. Despite his condition, which has him taking up to 16 medications a day to cope with the pain, Mason is a happy boy who doesn’t let the constant questions and stares from curious strangers affect him.
“By supporting DEBRA and raising awareness and money towards finding a cure, we hope to make life a little easier for sufferers of RDEB, like Mason. Your support would be greatly appreciated.”
Tickets are priced at £12.50 per head, which includes a fish and chip dinner or a vegetarian option. To book a team of four or six people, call Ryan on 01202 971855 or drop into his office in Ashley Cross.
