Launched in partnership with the Priest’s House Museum in Wimborne, a new theatre company for adults with learning disabilities still has a few places for new members.
Led by professional theatre practitioners Tam Gilbert (persuasion arts) and Tony Horitz (state of play), and launched in January, the Priest’s House Museum Theatre Company works through games and improvisation to explore some of the objects in the museum and bring stories to life.
If you are over 18, enthusiastic and with some experience and commitment to drama, are good at teamwork and able to get to Wimborne punctually, get in touch. Membership is free thanks to funding by Arts Council England, Wimborne Rotary Club and East Dorset District Council, as well as support from the Priest’s House Museum Trust.
The museum’s director, Emma Ayling, said: “I am thrilled that this project is happening in the museum.”
Tam Gilbert added: “We’re really pleased with how the workshops are going so far. We’re excited about the talent in the group and look forward to welcoming new members.”
