A mother and daughter duo, who have raised thousands of pounds since 2000 for the Jigsaw Appeal and Bournemouth Hospital Charity, are gearing up for their next event.
Joyce Woolnough and her daughter Jackie Millward have raised thousands of pounds by organising a variety of events, including treasure hunts, fun days and garden parties. Their next fundraiser is a garden fete being held at Joyce’s home in West Parley on 4 June. Visitors can enjoy a cream tea before browsing various stalls, try their luck at a raffle or tombola and sample some tasty barbecue food.
Joyce started fundraising for the charity the year after her husband Keith died of cancer. She said, “We really enjoy organising the events and helping to make a difference to peoples’ lives. The support I always get from my amazing friends and family is the secret behind the success of the events and I really couldn’t do it without them.
“There will be lots of things for families to enjoy with face painting for the children so we’re hoping as many people as possible will come along.”
Barry Wilson, Events Officer for Bournemouth Hospital Charity, said, “Joyce and Jackie are amazing fundraisers and we are very lucky to have their support.
“They have raised an incredible amount of money and we wish them luck with their next event, which we’re sure will be a huge success.”
