A mother and son from Bristol have received custodial sentences for the supply of drugs into HMP Guys Marsh.
The pair each pleaded guilty on 10 December at Dorchester Crown Court to five offences relating to the supply and possession with intent to supply of class A, B and C drugs.
Sharon Kennedy (43) was sentenced to two years in prison. Joshua Milkins (23) received a 40 month custodial sentence.
The court heard how on Sunday 17 February 2013, Sharon Kennedy was seen on CCTV handing over a package to Joshua Milkins while visiting him in prison. The package was later found to contain controlled drugs and mobile phone SIM cards.
Detective Constable Ian Frizzle, of the Major Organised Crime Unit said: “These convictions and sentences send a clear message that these crimes are not acceptable and will not be tolerated.
“Dorset Police, in partnership with HM Prison Service, is committed to stamping out this type of offending. We will continue to work closely together to bring offenders to justice.”
