Verwood man Tim Richards was overjoyed to win £1,000 in the latest CashUnity prize draw.
When he told his wife Helen, she thought he was joking, but gradually the news sank in.
“We don’t usually win anything,” said Tim, who was encouraged to enter CashUnity after spending just £13.50 in Xerocad in Ferndown.
He is going to spend his winnings on a summerhouse for the garden, “We’ve been talking about it for eight years, now with this prize money, we are going to do it,” he said.
Tim and Helen have four children who will also be able to enjoy the summerhouse when it arrives.
A self employed quantity surveyor, Tim regularly uses Xerocad for copying large plans.
Stuart Fleetham from Xerocad said, “It was nice that one of our regular customers won. CashUnity is going pretty well for us. I am all for anything that keeps business local and helps to get our name out there. Just by coming in and spending some money here, you could win £1,000 cash, Tim has proved that.”
Stuart has a box on his counter for CashUnity entries and is happy to accept entries from people who have shopped elsewhere in the initiative. “It will save the price of a stamp,” he said. “And anyone who comes into Xerocad will then be able to see what we do. It’s much more than you think.”
Stuart also received a bottle of champagne from mags4dorset for being the participating trader who supplied the winning entry.
