The Stewarts Garden Centres at Christchurch and Broomhill are promising a series of spooking Halloween events but will not have any staff dressed as clowns and fancy dress competitors will be advised to consider a change of theme.
The assurance comes as many event organisers plan their nights of horror.
Terry Head, director of retail and marketing at the centres says that their Spooky Walkway will be scary enough for kids on the afternoons of 25, 26 and 27 October alongside the charity pumpkin evening (26 October). They will host a fancy dress competition and spooky games with proceeds being donated by the Christchurch Centre to Bournemouth Hospital Charity and by the Broomhill Centre to Lewis Manning Hospice.
“We want this year to be a ‘fun scary’ Halloween celebration. Our staff will not be wearing creepy clowns costumes or masks in consideration of our younger visitors.” said Terry Head.
Competitors can also bring their carved pumpkins to be judged, brave the creepy walkway, and enjoy haunted food and fun for all the family.
