Play spaces survey across Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole
Over the next six weeks, local people have the chance to tell BCP Council what provision they would like to see at local play spaces.
Play spaces are important for the physical and mental health of young people so it’s important that residents in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole have their say on the facilities on offer.
Consequently from now until Monday 5 December, parents, grandparents, carers, skateboarders, cyclists and residents living close to a designated play area have the chance to give BCP Council their views.
The survey includes an interactive mapping tool, which also makes it easier for residents to have their say on the park that matters most to them.
BCP Council officers will be visiting play areas in the BCP area over the coming weeks to gather additional feedback from users, which will also inform this survey.
Cllr Mark Anderson, portfolio holder for Environment and Place, said: “We recognise how important play spaces are for the health, wellbeing and development of our children and young people. We are particularly keen that we ensure our play spaces are inclusive for both girls and boys, and also accessible to those who have a disability.
“I’m pleased that we are using the opportunity to get initial feedback and views from our play-area users and their families, so that we can develop a draft Play Strategy, which is both considered and relevant. It is essential that we explore how we make the best use of our play resources, and understanding what people value most will be integral to this. Please do take this opportunity to tell us your views.”
