Police injured in large fight in Sandbanks
In addition to two police officers being injured, a small number of people needed hospital treatment after this fight in Shore Road.
One police officer was spat at and sustained a minor head injury and another sustained minor injuries to her head and arms when they attended at fight involving a large group of people in the car park at Tesco Express in Shore Road, Sandbanks on Thursday 1 April.
Police were called at 10.36pm and the area was cleared at around 12.50am on Friday 2 April.
A 19-year-old man from Poole was detained in connection with assaulting emergency services workers, but he was later released and taken to hospital for treatment to serious injuries to his head and hand.
A section 35 dispersal notice was issued ordering people to leave the area until 8am on Friday 2 April.
Police Constable Jenny Walsh, of Poole police, said: “There were approximately 150 people in the area and I am appealing to any of them who witnessed the incident and have not already spoken to police to please come forward.
“There were a small number of people who attended hospital for treatment on the night of Thursday 1 April. I would also like to hear from anyone else who was injured and has not yet contacted police.
“Finally, I understand this incident was filmed by members of the public on mobile phones and I would ask anyone with footage to please get in touch.”
