Two local runners from Ferndown, Carolyn Pearson and Julie Messer, donated all their sponsorship money to the 2014 Poppy Appeal after completing the Great North Run in Newcastle and the Great South Run in Portsmouth respectively.
Carolyn whose sponsorship was matched by her employer, Lloyds Bank, presented a cheque to Ferndown Royal British Legion President, David Andrews and Julie’s cheque was accepted by Branch Chairman Grant Parrott in the Ferndown Garden of Remembrance, together raising almost £1000 for the Poppy Appeal.
