A public meeting to discuss options for the future use of Wimborne Square is to take place at 6pm on Monday, 6 January in Allendale House in Wimborne.
It is now 18 months since the completion of the improvements in Wimborne Square to create a pedestrianised area. East Dorset District Council is keen to ensure that the improvements will generate the greatest benefit to the Wimborne community and wants to hear from local residents and traders how this could be achieved.
The provision of an outdoor café on part of the pedestrianised area has been discussed in the past, but the area the café could occupy and the way in which the operator or operators would be selected has not yet been decided.
Representatives from Wimborne Minster Town Council, Wimborne Business Improvement District and Wimborne Minster Chamber of Trade and Commerce will be invited to express their views at the public meeting.
The council also wants to hear from local residents and individual traders, so please come along and have your say. Coffee and biscuits will be available from 5.30pm and the meeting is expected to end at about 7pm.
