Verwood Rugby Club will be holding a five-mile Great Van Pull around Verwood on Easter Saturday, 30 March.
Starting at noon from Verwood Social Club, the gallant 15 (and others) will be taking the strain on their load via retail businesses, the farmers market on Ferrett Green and halting briefly at the town’s hostelries finishing at the social club.
Businesses and members of the public can place money into buckets being carried by club members in front of and alongside the van pullers and a raffle is planned. All funds raised will be in aid of Sports Relief and the Somerset and Dorset Air Ambulance.
The charity van pull is also part of Verwood Rugby Club’s ‘Drive-4-Recruitment’ campaign which is set to continue throughout the off season.
