The Haskins Ferndown Garden Centre received a record number of merit awards from the South Thames Garden Centre Association Award Ceremony. General Manager Matt Hill accepted a total of 18 awards of merit. He was delighted to receive the awards in recognition of the professionalism and hard work maintained by the 140 full and part time staff employed at the centre as they are based on thorough audits conducted by GCA appointed inspectors.
The merits include the categories of Indoor Plants, Garden Care, and Pots and Ornamentation, and facilities including car park, toilets and disabled facilities, customer service points, and the 600 seat restaurant was also recognised for the high standard.
“We are pleased to have gained such high level of appraisal in the contest. We and our sister centre near Worthing also scooped first and second place as the best out of 18 destination centres in the South Thames region,” said Matt Hill. “I’m delighted that our hard working team has been able to impress both customers and GCA inspectors as we continue to invest in the enhancement of the centre.”
