Ringwood Foodbank is facing a funding challenge to raise enough regular income to cover the day-to-day costs of renting, maintaining and insuring their two warehouses and two distribution centres in Ringwood and Verwood. In September, a third distribution centre will open in Fordingbridge, so the costs are set to increase.
More and more people are turning to Ringwood Foodbank for emergency food aid and support. A large number of those receiving help are children.
The generosity of all those who have supported the Foodbank with donations of food and money over the past two years has been outstanding and has made the work possible. But in order to continue helping local people in crisis, the Foodbank needs to have a regular income. Without this income, the Foodbank is not sustainable in the long term.
Ringwood Foodbank is looking for 500 people who would be willing to give a minimum of £2 per month by standing order to keep the Foodbank running. This support would mean that the Foodbank would be able to plan its future with confidence. If anyone would like to help in this way, please telephone 01425 600134 or email info@ringwood.foodbank.org.uk.
