Santa Claus will be reunited with the six reindeer owned by the Stewarts family at Stewarts Garden Centres in time for Christmas. Arriving on a horse-drawn sleigh, Father Christmas will meet the reindeer in Christchurch on Saturday 28 November at 10.30am, and on the same day at Broom Hill in Wimborne at 1.30pm. Button, Comet, Dasher, Jingle, Snowy and Twinkle will be waiting to greet him and will remain at the centres with Santa until Christmas Eve.
Stewart’s Christmas manager Susie Stewart says that this will be the seventh year that Button and his friends will be able to be visited free at the centres: “They are definitely back by popular demand. They have received the approval of their vet, the council and other organisations so they can again fascinate visitors, both young and old, who now make a visit part of their Christmas tradition.”
Santa will also be made comfortable, although in his wonderland house – not the reindeer stable, surrounded by the centre’s wide range of seasonal gifts, decorations, and of course Christmas trees. There are many new items being stocked including a special snowfall effect that can be projected on your house at the click of a switch.
Special events during December will include choirs, bands, also food tasting and face painting. Fundraising will also take place for Marie Curie. Visit the centres or www.stewarts.co.uk for information.
An interview with Susie Stewart about the reindeer will be published in the next Viewpoint Magazine.
