Organisers are pleased to announce that the fundraising Dorset Plane Pull is returning on August Bank Holiday, Monday 31 August.
The Dorset Plane Pull, one of the county’s most unique fundraising events that has raised over £75,000 for a variety of charities since 2009. As in previous years, the event will be hosted by European Skybus at Bournemouth Airport (located at the West Parley end entrance) from 10am.
The event takes place at Bournemouth Airport and has benefited a variety of charities. This year The Jon Egging Trust, The Joe Glover Trust, Margaret Green Animal Rescue Centre, Riding for the Disabled, NSCPCC and Woofability will all benefit.
“Teams of over 20 will attempt to pull the 35,000kg Boeing 737 airliner by ropes a distance of 50 metres, some with the aim of taking the title of the ‘fastest pull’,” said one of the organisers Richard Griffin. “ National and local businesses have once again committed to support the day including Bliss Aviation, Bournemouth Airport and More Buses to name just a few.”
The day will also provide fun for all taking part and their supporters, even for those not pulling. With entertainment, food, drinks, stalls and activities being provided, already confirmed in the entertainment line-up is local cover band The Alibi, the traditional favourite Punch & Judy Show, balloon modelling and much more.
