Complaints against two members of Shaftesbury Town Council have been upheld.
Dorset Council’s Audit and Governance Hearing sub-committee considered three complaints of breaches of the Code of Conduct against Cllr Tippins and Cllr Yeo.
Cllr Mike Parkes, chairman of Dorset Council’s Audit and Governance Hearing sub-committee, said, “After very careful consideration of all the evidence, including the investigation reports, representations and responses given during the hearing, the sub-committee upheld the complaints made against Cllr Tippins and Cllr Yeo, finding that they had breached the Shaftesbury Town Council Code of Conduct.
“Cllr Tippins and Cllr Yeo were found to have behaved disrespectfully towards members of the public and towards fellow councillors in public meetings, thereby bringing the council into disrepute.
“We want to send a clear message: all councillors must maintain high standards of conduct at all times and work together for the good of their communities.”
