Spreading a little global happiness from Dorset roots
A Poole-based group is working hard to help its members stay happy by sharing stories and experiences from around the globe at Zoom meetings.
The World Happiness Project aims to increase happiness and improve mental health and wellbeing at home, in the community and workplaces across the world. Working with Bournemouth University and the BCP Council, the group had planned to launch the UK’s first National Happiness and Wellbeing Conference in April 2020.
As with many events of its kind, the conference was postponed until 2021, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. But that has not stopped the organisers from spreading happiness wherever they can.
Instead, they are holding monthly virtual meetings called the Global Happy Café. The most recent meeting featured Julia Kim talking about the Gross National Happiness Centre in Bhutan and what makes the country one of the happiest places to live in the world, Lesley Lyle explaining the importance of knowing what our strengths are and Rachel More discussing the power of singing.

The next Global Happy Café will be on Monday 2 November. All are welcome to join at https://us02web.zoom.us/j/88302360790?pwd=eWdYd01kSHB4bktZNzN3T1BzZnIrUT09
The meeting will start at 7pm, but participants are welcome to join a few minutes earlier if they wish.
