Y9 & Y12 Ferndown Upper School students were challenged out of their comfort zone on a fabulous community day during the week commencing 6 July. They took part in all manner of events including water sports, horse riding, crafting, filmmaking, song recording, landscape gardening and magazine writing to name but a few. In addition to this they produced a ‘Little Red Riding Hood’ play for Ferndown First School students from start to finish including making all the props and learning their roles. A group of visiting Taiwanese students were treated to a proper English tea party whilst another group of students impressed members of the local community by litter picking in and around the local area. The student brief for the day was ‘Try something you’ve never done or make a difference’. Students taking part said they felt a wonderful sense of achievement by the end of the day.
