HotelsCombined has recognised The Grove Hotel in Bournemouth alongside some of the best hotels in the UK. Situated on Bournemouth’s East Cliff, The Grove Hotel is a unique not-for-profit holiday retreat catering exclusively for people with cancer and other life-limiting illnesses. Retaining the accolade for the second year, the Recognition of Excellence Award was presented to The Grove following an extensive HotelsCombined survey on hotels across the UK.
Every year HotelsCombined selects outstanding accommodation providers based on a strict set of criteria. This includes having a minimum of 50 certified customer reviews and staff who demonstrate a clear commitment to providing quick assistance and excellent customer service. During the survey, The Grove Hotel boasted a high satisfaction rating among guests and travel industry experts, receiving 195 reviews for an impressive rating of 10.0 out of 10.
Brenden Howard, Manager at The Grove Hotel, has said,“It’s an amazing achievement and testament to our committed team to receive this award for the second year in a row. What is different about the Recognition of Excellence Award is that it all depends on the quality of our guests’ experience. Their positive reviews and comments have shown that we are achieving our main aim, which is to give people, who need it most, a relaxing holiday by the sea.’’
The Grove Hotel provides holidays for people with illnesses such as cancer, alongside their family, friends and carers. Specially equipped to meet the needs of those with life-threatening illnesses and their accompanying guests, a number of bedrooms have electric recliner beds and emergency cords; bathrooms and showers have stools and handrails, and there is full wheelchair access. The hotel is funded and managed by Macmillan Caring Locally, a registered charity, and is run by a team of loyal and long-serving staff, with nurses on emergency call 24 hours a day.
