Verwood Rugby Club’s home base of Potterne Park boasts one of the best playing pitches in the county, coupled with a multi-use 3G all weather training facility. A project is now in progress to provide an increased and dedicated rugby training area.
As the new season opens in September, Potterne pavilion will, largely through the work of those involved with Verwood RUFC and Verwood Arts and Leisure Association (VALA), shortly boast a fully licensed bar and improved seating areas. The new facilities will be shared with all Potterne Park’s sports and leisure clubs as well as the general public.
Verwood Rugby has also entered into an alliance with another club – Dorset Dockers – allowing them to share the Potterne facilities. This will increase the exposure of rugby in Verwood and two clubs playing and socialising together will give Verwoodians the ability to watch rugby most weekends during the season.
The annual Verwood RUFC handbook will be obtainable from various retailers and services in the town. A full list of fixtures and club social events will be listed at: www.pitchero.com/clubs/verwood
All levels of enthusiastic players and supporters will be warmly welcomed and they should look out for the squad training at Potterne Park every Thursday from 7pm.
