Westival draws the crowds in West Moors
What a cracking day it was for Westival organised by West Moors Town Council on 9 July at Fryer Field.
The biggest festival so far, it had virtually doubled in size and attracted crowds of people.
There was no entry charge and the weather couldn’t have been better for a family day out.
As well as a large collection of classic and vintage vehicles there was ferret racing by Purbeck Ferret Rescue, the ever-popular climbing wall, water rollers, over 50 stalls, games and live entertainment including Jamie Jigsaw and Krazy Kev plus skate park activities and a raffle with over 30 prizes.
For the first time a Climate Corner was included and Clean Jurassic Coast (CJC) has a stall. Mermaid Taurva also dropped in to help highlight the problem of plastic pollution in the sea. CJC voluntarily clean beaches along the Jurassic Coast and they had a display of the types of litter and debris they have collected.
