Wimborne hosts town twinners

A total of 31 people from Valognes, members of the Wimborne-Valognes Twinning Association, visited Wimborne for a weekend in late May.

On the morning of Saturday 18 May, the new Mayor of Wimborne Cllr Jeff Hart hosted a civic reception in Allendale House, followed by a display by the Wimborne Marching Band. 

In the afternoon in a combined effort with Wimborne in Bloom, eight people opened their gardens to the French visitors.

That evening a London bus took members to the Crane Valley Golf Club. for a gala dinner, with many of the party setting off for the historic village of Tyneham the following day. The weekend concluded with a barbeque or a quiet evening in the homes of the Wimborne hosts.
