The Verwood Distribution Centre of Ringwood Foodbank is running a competition with the support of the Verwood and District Chamber of Trade to find a poster that best shows how the Foodbank helps local people in need.
Ringwood Foodbank provides emergency food aid as well as information and support for local families at its three distribution centres in Ringwood, Verwood and Fordingbridge.
Pupils from seven primary schools in Verwood, Ferndown, Cranborne and Wimborne are currently taking part in the competition to design a poster that will be used to advertise the work of the foodbank.
Verwood and District Chamber of Trade has generously donated the prizes and has undertaken to pay the cost of the printing the posters. The winning entry will receive a voucher worth £25 for art and craft materials plus a £50 cheque for his or her school. The second and third-placed entries will receive art and craft vouchers worth £15 and £10 respectively.
The closing date for the competition is Friday 9 October and the prize-giving will take place at the United Reformed Church in Manor Road, Verwood at 2pm on Monday 2 November.
