100 food parcels from Wimborne and Ferndown Lions
Around 100 people in the Wimborne and Ferndown areas were able to enjoy items supplied by the Lions Club at Christmas.
Wimborne and Ferndown Lions Club made their annual delivery of Christmas food parcels to local people with recipients being able to enjoy the 25 or so non-perishable items.
Club members fill the bags from bulk supplies purchased from a local supermarket. The bags are then delivered as a Christmas gift to local people who have been identified by social services, Citizens Advice Bureau or GPs etc as people for whom the parcels will be of most benefit.
There were about 100 bags made up in this way.
A club spokesperson thanked the Ferndown Guides for the use of their hall for assembling the bags before they were distributed.
