A club for local businessmen has donated £1,000 to a Bournemouth charity that makes wishes come true for children with life-threatening illnesses.
The BC Club held a fundraiser and donated the sum to Round Table Children’s Wish (RTCW), a national charity.
The money will help the ‘wish fairies’ to keep making dreams come true for youngsters who have often suffered a great deal.
Since opening its doors in 1990 RTCW has granted over 1,500 wishes and relies on fundraising efforts to carry out its work.
The BC Club was founded by Steve Wells, Jamie Hughes and Leon Stimpson, for businessmen to get together, enjoy themselves and raise money for charity.
Steve said: “We formed the BC Club in 2008 to have get-togethers and enjoy ourselves and also to raise money for charity.
“We now have over 30 members and we organise at least four events a year and the money we are able to give to charities is growing.
“Round Table Children’s Wish is a great cause that really puts smiles on the faces of children.”
Karen Winchcombe, director of the charity, said: “The BC Club has supported us for some time and we’re incredibly grateful for the donations.
“Without the generosity of fundraisers and groups like the BC Club we wouldn’t be able to carry out our work.”
