Abused no-hair ‘Paddington bear’ gets her story-book ending

Reporting from Peru: Cholita the ‘real-life Paddington bear’ who won the world’s hearts after suffering abuse in the circus has been successfully returned to her native home by Animal Defenders International (ADI). The elderly, hairless bear has been nursed back to health by the animal rescue organisation and relocated in an epic three-day journey over the Andes to a specially-built habitat in the Amazon.

A338 road closures start this weekend

Drivers in and around Bournemouth are being reminded about major roadworks starting in the area this weekend.
Dorset County Council will start rebuilding the A338 Bournemouth Spur Road, between Ashley Heath and Blackwater, on Monday 7 September – with the dual carriageway down to one lane in each direction from 6am Monday.

Jailed for the murder of Sarah Pollock

A man has been jailed for life for the murder of his ex-partner Sarah Pollock in Bournemouth.
Colin Dymond, 52, of Saltash in Plymouth, appeared at Winchester Crown Court today, Friday 4 September, and entered a guilty plea to killing the 41-year-old in her flat in Avon Close on Wednesday 25 March 2015.
