Harold G Walker’s monthly free legal clinic in West Moors has been such a success, the legal firm is launching an additional advice centre to serve the Verwood community. Animal Defenders International (ADI) has applauded the overwhelming rejection at CITES’ (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species) 17th conference in Johannesburg of Swaziland’s attempt to legalize trade in Southern White Rhino Horn. There was great opposition to the controversial proposal, including actress Joanna Lumley, who voiced her support for ADI’s campaign.
Dorset Wildlife Trust backs new areas of Marine Conservation Zones
Additional marine areas in Dorset have been identified for protection in a new report, ‘The case for Marine Conservation Zones’ which has been published by the Wildlife Trusts. The report identifies 48 areas around England that, if designated, will complete a “blue-belt” of protected places for marine wildlife.
