Residents of Ferndown were surprised to find Tesco Christmas lights hung up along the pedestrianised shopping street of Pennys Walk.

As part of Fuel Poverty Awareness Day, events will take place in Ferndown, Blandford, Weymouth, Dorchester and Bridport.

Dorset Police are hoping that the campaign will bring home to people the dangers of knife crime as well as persuading people to hand them in.

Ferndown Community Support has been given a prestigious award: The King’s Award for Voluntary Service.
