The Manfreds, with original Manfred Mann members Paul Jones, Mike Hugg and Tom McGuinness, along with Rob Townsend, Marcus Cliffe and Simon Currie, bring their Hit 5,4,3,2,1 Tour to the Regent in Christchurch on Sunday 13 April at 7.30 pm.
The Manfreds with original front man, Paul Jones, will be performing many of the early hits along with a mix of jazz and blues numbers from some of their best known albums.
Paul Jones, with his instantly recognisable vocals and unique harmonica sound, will be joined by Mike Hugg on keyboards, Tom McGuinness on lead guitar, Rob Townsend on drums, Marcus Cliffe on bass guitar and Simon Currie on saxophone and flute.
The Manfreds are currently in the middle of a major 23 venue UK tour. The band will be playing such classic Swinging 60s sounds as 5-4-3-2-1 which became the theme tune of ITV’s Ready, Steady Go, which was the pop show to see all of the early to mid 60s’ stars of the 45 RPM vinyl singles era.
Amongst those other favourite 60s chart toppers will be Pretty Flamingo, Mighty Quinn, Do Wah Diddy Diddy and the classic Paul Jones ballad, I’ve Been a Bad, Bad Boy together with favourites from their best known album releases.
