7 fun facts about Film and TV locations in Dorset
The beautiful county of Dorset has been used for film locations on numerous occasions. Here are a few to chew over. If you know of any more, let us know.

Lyme Regis was the Undercliff in the French Lieutenant’s Woman starring Jeremy Irons and Meryl Streep.

One Foot in the Grave was filmed in Christchurch and Bournemouth.

The cock fighting scene in The Mayor of Casterbridge was filmed at Horton Tower, Chalbury Common. Other scenes were shot at Corfe Castle.

Broadchurch was filmed at West Bay on the Jurassic Coast.

A film crew arrived in Dorset recently to film a scene in the new Star Wars TV series. Winspit Quarry near Worth Matravers was closed to the public at the end of April/beginning of May whilst filming took place. Our photograph was taken by Pam Smith from Verwood.
