Castlepoint’s General Manager Peter Matthews, 65, has completed a 30 mile tri-horseathon in eight hours. The route started at Castlepoint with a 10 mile cycle ride to Stocks Farm Equestrian Centre where Peter mounted his horse Jim and completed a series of jumps before riding 10 miles. He visited Portfield School, which will benefit from the £2,400 sponsorship raised, before walking 10 miles back to Castlepoint.
“The walk back to Castlepoint was the toughest part,” said Peter. “I would like to thank everyone who sponsored me and helped me on my way.”
The money raised will help Autism Wessex to fund essential resources at Portfield School, near Bournemouth Airport, including the installation of an interaction room.
Gemma Saunders, Corporate Partnerships Officer at Autism Wessex said, “We are delighted to receive support from Castlepoint thank Peter, and Jim! It was a gruelling challenge. Portfield School is our specialist school for children affected by autism and other developmental disabilities.”
Autism Wessex is Castlepoint’s charity of the year. Further information about Autism Wessex’s fundraising activities can be found at www.autismwessex.org.uk or www.castlepointshopping.com
