A fundraising home in Wimborne for unwanted Christmas gifts
The Museum of East Dorset would welcome unwanted gifts for its fundraising activities throughout the year.
Sadly, some Christmas gifts are unwanted – but they can be put to good use.
Wimborne’s Museum of East Dorset would welcome them as it organises fundraising events throughout the year, with all proceeds going to help sustain the running of the museum.
Fundraising also helps support many of the museum’s valuable community engagement programmes, such as the Reminiscence Outreach programme. Designed to help stimulate those living with dementia, experienced museum volunteers visit care homes and day centres with memorabilia and objects. The museum also supports Wimborne Food Bank and provides crafts and activity sessions for underprivileged children during the school holidays.
Director Francesca Hollow said: “We always need good-quality raffle and tombola prizes for our events. If anyone has an overload of new and unwanted toiletries, biscuits, sweet tins and wine — please consider us.”
You can drop off your donations at the museum shop, which is open from 10am until 4pm, Monday to Saturday, reopening after Christmas on Saturday 10 January.
