A-list prizes on offer at Julia’s House first Race Day event
A walk-on part in a Guy Ritchie film, luxury F1 weekend, and Director’s Box match tickets are up for grabs in Julia’s House Race Day event.
Julia’s House first Race Day event will be held at Salisbury Racecourse on Friday 9 September with some A-list prizes on offer.
More than 2,000 visitors will enjoy a thrilling afternoon of racing, from 12.30pm to 7.30pm, including a special amateur jockey’s charity flat race.
There will be a raffle with a host of prizes on offer for all race goers.
Adding to the excitement of this event, patrons and supporters have generously donated first class prizes to raise vital funds for Julia’s House.
A selection of higher value and unique prizes will be available to bid on through an online silent auction in the lead-up to the event and on the day, including a bespoke F1 weekend package for two to attend the 2023 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix, and the chance to meet Guy Ritchie and star on the silver screen.
Guy Ritchie (Lock, Stock and Two Smoking Barrels; Sherlock Holmes; Aladdin) has offered the rare opportunity to win a walk-on part in one of his upcoming films. As well as appearing on screen, the winning bidder will meet Guy Ritchie in person and enjoy a behind-the-scenes experience on the film set, with UK-based location, date and film to be confirmed.
Guy and his wife, the model Jacqui Ainsley, are patrons of Julia’s House children’s hospice. They provided vital support in building the charity’s hospice in Devizes around five years ago, hosting a fundraising event on their Wiltshire country estate for the charity.
Eddie Howe, head coach for Newcastle United FC, has donated four tickets for the Director’s Box at the upcoming Newcastle v AFC Bournemouth match on Saturday 17 September. He has also donated four more Director’s Box tickets for the Newcastle v Chelsea game on Saturday 12 November at St James’ Park, Newcastle.
The former AFC Bournemouth manager and player has been a passionate patron and supporter of Julia’s House for many years, previously arranging stadium tours for Julia’s House children and taking part in fundraising events.
Eddie said: “I remember my son, Harry, having a health scare when he was very young and when you go through an experience like that, you get even more of an appreciation for a charity like Julia’s House and others that care for sick children.
“At this stage in my life, I have a greater understanding of what it means and of the responsibility of being a parent. I am privileged and proud to become a patron of this fantastic charity.”
Julia’s House provides specialist care and support for families of the most seriously ill children in Dorset and Wiltshire.
