Roger and Pamela Long received an invitation from the Queen, via the Lord Chamberlain, to attend a garden party at Buckingham Palace held last Thursday 30th May.
The honour was in recognition of the many hours of voluntary work carried out by Roger and Pam for the benefit of West Moors, especially as Chairman and Publicity Officer of the Home watch group which was recently chosen as the best Watch in Dorset.
Roger said, ‘’We had a wonderful day at the Palace. Despite the wet weather, Her Majesty circulated amongst the guests dressed in pink and carrying a matching umbrella. These memories will stay with us for the rest of our lives.”
